Bosch mobility boss Harald Kroeger to leave supplier

Harald Kroeger, who has led some of the most technology-intense initiatives at Robert Bosch, will leave the supplier at the end of the year.

Kroeger, 54, is responsible for systems integration in the Mobility Solutions business sector, cross domain computing solutions, chassis systems control, automotive electronics, steering and two-wheeler/powersports at the supplier. He is leaving at his own request, Bosch said in a statement.

Kroeger’s responsibilities will be filled by Markus Heyn, 57, the incoming chairman of the mobility solutions business sector.

“We regret Harald Kroeger’s decision and wish him all the very best for the future,” said Franz Fehrenbach, the chairman of the supervisory board. “His very inspirational leadership combined with his unique ability to promote the right people earned him a lot of esteem among his associates.”

Bosch reshuffled its leadership in June, naming Stefan Hartung as CEO, replacing Volkmar Denner. Among the changes at the time were the appointment of Heyn to head mobility solutions, and the announcement that Fehrenbach would step down on Dec. 31, to be succeeded by longtime CFO Stefan Asenkerschbaumer.

Kroeger joined the management board in 2019. The native of Muenster, Germany, holds degrees in engineering and economics from the University of Leinster and Stanford. He started at Daimler in 1994 and for the next 23 years held a variety of positions at Daimler and Mercedes-Benz, becoming head of development for electrics/electronics and electrical powertrains in 2013. He joined Bosch as president of the automotive electronics division in 2017.

He was named an Automotive News Europe Eurostar in 2020 for Supplier Division Head.
